After failing my first driving test almost a year ago with another instructor (not from Jon Formula), I went back to Jon. I first contacted Jon before COVID, but the country went into lock down one day before our scheduled assessment session. Then for two years I think he's been busy clearing up backlogs from his pupils - I'd been keeping asking him regularly ever since, as the feel of him via speaking over the phone has always been good. I have then contacted a few other schools/instructors, never went ahead with any of them because they were awful/rude/chaotic even from contacting phase. Two months before my first test, Jon was not available and neither are any other manual instructors that work with him. So I went with a completely new instructor i stumbled upon that has availability on the short notice, but failed after having 30 hours with him. Then I thought I'd check with Jon again, he himself was not available but recommended Ravi who works with him. Ravi has been brilliant - always chilled, laid back and explain things. Always punctual (more than punctual - he's often earlier than expcted 😃) and always follow up with lesson credits after esch lesson. The driving vibe he's set up is so relaxing that it really contributes a lot to my feeling relaxed, confident and comfortable driving and dealing with different situations, esp. errors/faults I'd made in my first test. Ofc I passed (with 4 minors), but what I wanted to sayd is he doesn't just teach for the sake of passing the test; rather it's safe driving. The only small suggestion is maybe sometimes advise on *how* to do certain things on top of *what* you need to do. I know reference point can be a bit unreliable, but sometimes I feel like I know what I should do, but a bit unsure how I should do it. I will definitely come back for motorway/carriageway sessions when I get more driving (still getting used to my own car!). All the best to Formula Jon. All the best to Ravi!

I passed my practical driving test today on my very first attempt, with zero minor faults—literally not a single one. I’m absolutely over the moon. But the real credit goes to my amazing instructor, Anil. I had never driven before in my life, so this felt like a massive challenge. Anil was incredibly patient, calm, and completely tuned in to what I needed. He spotted my mistakes even before I did and made sure I kept practising until I got it right. Morden Test Centre isn’t easy, and my routes were particularly tough. I genuinely believe I couldn’t have done this without an instructor as experienced and dedicated as Anil. Learning how to drive with Ravi has been the most pleasant and fun experience and turned driving from a stressful, tense activity into something I truly enjoyed! I came back to Formula Jon after have a few lessons two years ago. I was very nervous in the car and had build up some bad habits from previous experiences. Ravi immediately made me feel comfortable and taught me in a relaxed way, no tension or harsh criticism. He was always happy to listen to what I wanted to work on and wouldn't move on from a skill unless he knew I was 100% happy and confident. He also gave me a lot of confidence and positive affirmation going into my test, which dissolved a lot of the usual exam nerves for me. I was lucky enough to pass my test first time and couldn't be more grateful to Ravi for making that happen, it never would have happened without him!

Jon is actually amazing. He was able to support me in every area that I needed. We even did the manual lessons in my own car, as that’s what I plan to take my driving test in. He really thought of every eventuality for me and supported me with it. Considering he only had me for four hours, he managed to cover everything that I had worries and fears on and get me prepped for my test which I have now passed so I will forever be grateful for him. I started learning to driving with formula Jon driving school in September and I passed my driving test 1st time today at Morden 5 months pregnant and I am so grateful that I picked him for my manual lessons. My driving instructor was Jon and he was so patient and friendly and his humour is 100%. He explains things so well that makes you feel confident at doing what he tells you to do. Will miss my Friday afternoon with you 😂 If you get nervous while driving Jon takes them nervous away with his coaching skills. I passed my driving test today at Morden TC and this would not be possible without the excellent guidance from Jon (automatic instructor). I have changed three instructors before Jon and I definitely feel like Jon’s patience and mannerisms made all the difference. He really is one of the best instructors that I have come across. I would like to give him 5 stars, even though I am not his student. My car was parked on the street and got scratched by another car while I was away. He intervened and spoke to the driver, who then left a note on my windshield. Thanks to him, I was able to get the repair payment from the driver.

Great manual driving lessons in Carshalton. When I started driving I was very unnatural, but Jon did a great job teaching me from the very beginning to passing first time. The 2 hour lessons were very useful in getting me to test standard aswell. Jon was also a very patient instructor who takes a lot of care in making sure his students are up to the required level when it comes to test day. 10/10 would recommend!

Having just passed my driving test with ZERO Driving Faults, I felt compelled to share my experience with Formula Jon Driving School in Sutton. I specifically chose manual driving lessons, and let me tell you, the clutch and I weren't exactly best friends in the beginning! But thanks to Jon, my fantastic instructor at Formula Jon, I conquered those nerves and changing gears. Jon made manual driving feel achievable. He explained everything clearly, from mastering hill starts to navigating tricky roundabouts. He was incredibly patient with my mistakes, always offering encouragement and support. We practiced on a variety of roads, from quiet Sutton streets to busier areas, which truly prepared me for the test and the realities of driving on my own.

If you are looking for a driving instructor - look no more and trust dozens of raving reviews you find here! When I started practicing driving about a year ago, I had this perception that all the driving instructors will give you more or less the same set of knowledge and skills, and it’s only up to you on how well/quickly you will develop your skills. Today, after 3 failed driving test attempts and changing 2 driving instructors, I realize how wrong this perception was. I was blessed to eventually discover Formula Jon school, and after a few lessons with Anil I have finally passed my driving test yesterday, with 0 faults! What made a difference for me: 1. Calm, honest but very respectful and polite feedback for my driving - helped me to calm down my nerves. 2. Very clear explanation of each road situation & maneuver I struggled with, methodical practicing until I felt comfortable with it and knew exactly what to do. 3. The car - it’s perfect for beginners like me: small, very smooth and forgiving, with amazing steering and even back cam - made reversing maneuvers bulletproof, which is exactly what you need to feel confident on your test! I would like to sincerely thank Anil and Jon for helping me to finally pass my test after so many months of struggle.

Having not driven for 12 years I was nervous to get back on the road so I booked some refresher lessons with Formula Jon Driving School.
